Be In Our Next Music Video: Tabletop Games, RPGs, LARPs and Cons!
Hey friends! Doubleclicks here! We've written a song about how much we love GAMES! And one of the things we love most about games is spending time with our friends, whether it's at a convention like Gen Con, at home, or online! In partnership with Gen Con Online (where we'll be performing this year!), we're making a new song about games, and we'd like your help making the video for it!THE DEADLINE IS TUESDAY, JULY 21 at 11:59pm PACIFIC TIME!What do we need you to do? Film a hand-off! Here are some examples (if the gif below doesn't work, watch it here)!
- Read the complete instructions below!
- Make a (5-15 second) "hand off" video AND/OR send us SHORT (15 second max) video clips from Gen Cons in year past!
- Send the video to us to: doubleaclick@gmail.com (yes, that is doubleAclick@gmail.com, not a typo.) Keep the video short and sweet!
- Fill out this form to give us your name and permission - you MUST fill out this form: https://forms.gle/uaRKJQB9QRMUjcnZ8
- MOST IMPORTANT ONE: Please turn your phone sideways! You can film this video with a camera, a phone, whatever (high quality is great within reason)—but PLEASE make sure it’s horizontal, like a movie, not vertical, like a selfie. Example: http://www.thedoubleclicks.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/iphonetutorial.jpg
- THE VIDEO IS (WATCH THE SAMPLE HERE!): Put on your cool gaming clothes (or ren faire outfit, or cosplay, or .... whatever!) and then pick an item that is related to gaming or going to a convention (dice? a game? a meeple? a boffer sword? a secret identity? your guitar for the music jams? some snacks? hand sanitizer? art you bought at the art show? books? pictures of your friends? a baby?). Then you will RECEIVE the item from offscreen to your side, and then HAND IT to the next person to your other side - like we're all sitting around a table drafting cards!
- Watch the sample videos to see which side of the screen you should be receiving from and handing off to - but if you mess up, I will just flip your video, so don't stress too much.
- Look for the best possible lighting—brighter is better! And keeping the camera still is a good idea too.
- Make sure the item goes from completely offscreen on one side to completely offscreen on the other side!!
- Acceptable formats: 3GP, AVI, MP4 and Quicktime.
- Don’t send me a file that is big - like over 2 gigs, my computer is small. Watch it on your computer to make sure it is not tiny. Ideally the file should be about 20-50MB.
- If you’re using dropbox/google drive please send us a link to the FILE, not the FOLDER, that makes it easier!! Make sure the file has open permissions - "anyone with the link can access."
- Don’t take a video of someone who doesn’t know what’s happening! Please! Don’t rope your reluctant sister, stranger, or neighbor into it or something. That makes everyone feel weird! Dance your own beautiful self! (Or get your baby or dog to do it, that’s just adorable.)
- Don’t send us multiple takes or options, just pick your favorite for each person/group! We trust your judgment! Your household members CAN each have their own video!
- If you want to submit art or animation that’s totally awesome, in the same instructions!
- Good moods only! And kid-appropriate!
- If you're acting out a particular line of the song (check out the lyrics below) let us know in the email!
- Please do not sing along, mouth, or say any words, that will make it harder to get you into the video.
