MEOW MEOW | wanna be in our new music video?
UPDATE: All of the words have been assigned for this video and all of the backup words are taken care of! Thank you for your help!
Hello! We are making a crowd-sourced music video for our new song: "Cats at Parties." Would you like to help? Do you have a cat? Or a dog/other pet? Or access to a cat or dog? Keep reading!
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PARTICIPATE?
The video is a "lyric" video: each photo will have one word of the lyrics of the song, as well as a CAT (or other pet). So if you want to help, you will need to send us a picture of you, a cat/cats (possibly with party hats), and the WORD we assign you. Keep reading for instructions!
1. Email us for a word PICK A WORD: All words have been chosen!
We have assigned all of the words, but we have 40 that still haven't come in, and now we're down to the last minute. (If you have already been assigned a word, please do the word you were assigned). The words below are BACK UP words. if you want to help us out, please pick a word and send it in! We may or may not use it, but your help is appreciated! Pick a word and then scroll down for information about how to take a picture.
2. TAKE A PHOTO:
Here are some guidelines for taking a photo we can use:
- Your photo should include: your WORD and a (real) CAT/cats. Dogs count as cats. You should also be in the photo, unless you don't want to be.
- Feel free to get into the theme of your word or into the "party" theme.
- Hand-write your word largely and clearly on a piece of paper. (computer-printed words tend to look photoshopped). use a marker or take some time to really color it in.
- Take a minute to find good lighting: (bright lights should not be behind you.). The photo can be taken by you or by someone else. Try for a good level of in-focus and a cute cat pose. Take a few photos and pick your favorite.
- Your photo should be HORIZONTAL and wide, like a movie, not vertical, like an iPhone, or square, like an Instagram. (here's a visualization of that).
- Please avoid product placement, photobombs, inside jokes, or things that are even remotely gross. Please make sure everyone in the photo has given their permission to be in a YouTube video—(so, NOT your teenage sister, someone in the background at a restaurant, someone else's child—pretty please.)
- Here are some dos and don'ts: However, your cat should be real and not photoshopped, Unfortunately we do not have a cat to use as an example. That's why we need you!
3. Send us your photo!
Here are some tips on sending your photo in the best way.
- Turn in your photo by November 13 at midnight pacific time via email attachment (not dropbox or google drive, just an attachment) to cats@thedoubleclicks.com.
- Please make the filename the same as your word, if you can. For example, if your word was “cupcake”, your file would be “cupcake.jpg.” But your word isn’t cupcake. Your word will be assigned to you when you send us an email.
- Keep it simple for us, and attach only one photo (or two really good photos, if you simply can't choose). Attach the photo that you like best and best fits the example images.
- Don’t make the photo file giant. it doesn’t need to be more than 1800 pixels wide, so if you're using a fancy camera, feel free to re-size it to save us some space.
4. Give us your name for the credits.
This is real important, so we can credit you and your cat. The form link will be in the e-mail we send you.And that's it! Thank you!
